UNK BAND DAY PARADE INFO!
Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025
Drop-off: 9:15 a.m. Please use the narrow parking lot that is on the east side of the Merryman parking lot for drop-off (you will want to park towards the end of the parade route if you are driving students to the awards ceremony). The Merryman parking lot will be used for band staging, so please do not park there.
Uniforms: FCS Marching Band t-shirt, nice jeans (no holes, rips, or tears), black socks, and black shoes.
Instruments: Please have your instruments put together before you arrive. You will transfer your instrument case into the vehicle of the person you will be riding with to the awards ceremony.
Parade route: South from the Merryman on 3rd Ave., turn east on Railroad Street, turn north on Central Ave., then turn east on 24th Street.
We are the 3rd band in the parade and will be stepping off at 10:01.
At the end of the route, students will find the driver they are riding with and put their instrument away. We will walk together to our area on Central Avenue to watch the rest of the parade together.
Awards: After the parade, everyone will go with their assigned parent drivers to Kearney High School for lunch and the awards ceremony which begins at 1:00 p.m.
Lunch: Please bring money to eat at the concession stand or a sack lunch, if you prefer.
After the awards ceremony, parents need to find Mrs. Uden to pick up their student.
There is a field competition that will follow the awards ceremony which would be a great opportunity for your students to watch, if it works with your schedule. Students will need to sit with their parents for this event.

- Seat savers to find a place on Central Avenue for our students to sit and watch the parade when we are finished marching.
- Parents who will make/buy and bring treats, as well as transport water (which Mrs. Uden has), to our viewing area at the parade.
