Schedule: 12:00 – Leave FCS and travel to festival location (parent help needed)
12:30-12:45 – Arrive, find your school’s area, get set up
1:00 – In your seats, ready to rehearse!
1:00-2:15 – 1st rehearsal
2:15-2:35 – Break – snacks & restrooms
2:35-3:45 – 2nd rehearsal
3:45-4:05 – Break – snacks & restrooms
4:05- 5:30 – 3rd rehearsal
5:30-5:50 – Break – snacks, restrooms, & clean up your area
5:50 – In your seats, tune
6:00 – Concert – Open to the public – invite your family and friends!
After the concert – Please help return the facility better than we found it!
Then your students will be dismissed to you.
Cost: The participation fee for the festival will be $? for each student. Please
send your money to school with your student(s) by Tuesday, March ?.
You can pay with cash or by a check payable to FCS with the words
Kearney Christian Band Festival in the memo line.
Snacks: We will have 3 different snack breaks. (parent help needed)
*Please have each student bring a dozen snacks to share. (Bring something that
you enjoy eating, but that will also fill you up/hold you over until after the concert.)
*Besides cookies & chips, please include healthy snacks as well – fruit, cheese
sticks, granola bars, etc.
*If you bring fruit, please wash it and have it individually packaged as a
ready-to-eat snack. If you bring homemade snacks, please place them in
individual snack bags that are labeled with what they are.
*If you have students with food allergies, please have them bring their own
snacks labeled with their name.
*Please have each student bring 6 water bottles – (can bring ahead of time)
Attire: Please wear concert black for the day/concert.
Guys – black shirts, black pants, black socks, black shoes .
Girls – black shirts, black pants or skirts/dresses, black
socks, black shoes, black accessories for your hair.
*Please be modest! No clothing with rips, tears, or holes; and make sure
dresses/skirts have hems below the knee.
Make sure to bring:
~your instrument and any accessories (reeds, cork grease, valve oil, etc.)
~all your music
Please label everything you bring with your name!
Please label all pages of your music and your instrument cases, drumsticks, etc.
to make sure things are not mixed up!
Out of respect for our clinician and our rehearsal times, please do NOT have your
students bring phones to the festival! If you need to communicate with your
student, please call/text me directly.
PARENT OPPORTUNITIES:
1) We need drivers to help transport students from FCS to First Baptist Church at noon on Tuesday, March 18th.
2)We also could use a couple of parents to help oversee the snack breaks during the afternoon that day.
